This bill expands the scope of the Department of Homeland Security and requires them to detain non-legal immigrants who have been arrested for burglary, theft, larceny, and shoplifting.
The bill passed through the house and senate with bipartisan support and was signed into law by President Trump on Jan. 29, 2025
